Shooting Disciplines

Skeet

BMC has five fields for skeet.  Field #1 is shared as a skeet and trap field.  With a beautiful open field as the background, the fields provide a great line of sight for the shooter.  It is great to shoot a few rounds with fellow shooters or bring your own voice release equipment for private practice.

The club hosts three registered NSSA shoots each year:

  • The Spring Open (April)

  • Bill Rinkle Memorial (July 4th weekend)

  • Fall Open (October)

Shooters must be an active member of NSSA-NSCA to participate. Complimentary memberships can be provided if a shooter has never shot a registered NSSA or NSCA target.

Sporting Clays

BMC has two sporting clay courses plus a 5-stand.

  • Sporting clays (The Woods course)

  • super sporting (Pine Ridge)

  • 5-stand

The super sporting (Pine Ridge) was our newest addition built in 2015.  The club hosts two registered events each year.

Rifle & Pistol Ranges

Whether you are honing in the sight on your hunting rifle or the accuracy of your pistol, BMC has the ranges for all levels.

RIFLE RANGE: BMC has a covered rifle range.  The range covers a total of 300 yards with multiple berms and target mounts available for shooters and includes concrete shooting tables.

PISTOL RANGE: A covered pistol range was completed in 2015 that has berms on three sides with wooden shooting tables and benches at varying heights. Also available is the new Steel Challenge alleys added to the left of the mail pistol range (only 1 alley is available for practice; all other alleys are for registered shoots ONLY).

COMPETITIONS:

Schuetzen (June and September).  A Schuetzen is a type of rifle long-range competition. All shooting with these rifles is done standing using a palm rest and butt stock prongs to help the shooter balance the rifle so the weight aids in stability. Schuetzen Matches are shot at 200 yards with a specialized target.

Steel Challenge:  Monthly competitions are held on the 3rd Saturday with events beginning at 9 am (except Nov.-March at 10 am).

22LR Events:  IR50; ABRA & Long Range - Meets are held on the Rifle Range each month; additional weekday events may periodically be added. See Calendar of Events for upcoming shoots.

SCTP Youth

BMC has an active Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP). SCTP provides student-athletes aged elementary through college with a supportive environment where shooting sports serve as catalysts for teaching life lessons and skills that emphasize positive character traits and citizenship values. The SCTP’s mission is to help kids reach their highest potential in becoming the best athlete and young adults they can be. The SCTP is a youth development program, first and foremost and we do this through shooting sports and competitive shooting. The competition includes competing in sports such as trap, skeet, and sporting clays. As well as Olympic disciplines like bunker trap and international skeet.
